This isn’t active in Lighthouse yet. We have the UI changes ready to apply multple watchers to tickets, so it should be included in the near future.

There are some toys in github for Lighthouse, such as http://github.com/Caged/lighthouse-digest where you have a digest email sent your members, like we get digest emails for new tickets for this week, but you could have it set for closed tickets in the last 24 hours etc.

Is there a way to assign tickets to multiple people? Or to send a notification to multiple users when a ticket has been resolved?

I just updated a ticket to status “resolved,” but I need the email that states that this ticket has been updated to go out to multiple people, not just me (to whom it was assigned).

Ideally, everyone to whom it pertains should check the ticket on their own accord, but I can’t enforce this; having the ticket updated email dispatch to multiple people ensures that these people to whom it pertains are looped-in.

Fogo, acutally I think that is the case. During the lighthouse beta days we had another blackberry user who mentioned the same issue. It took a few days but there was a solution found. I’m not sure if its on the forum or not, but I will search around.

Having problems submitting tickets via BlackBerry. Is anyone else. I can send tickets via other mail clients but not via the BB. I believe it has to do with the different characters involved in sending to lightHouse (+ – .).

I was surprised to discover that this isn’t built-in as well. Please add me to the “want this feature” list. In the meantime, I’m using a custom search in Firefox to hack my way around this issue. Replace ACCOUNT_NAME and PROJECT_ID with the appropriate values.

No, you’re not missing anything. At the moment, the only way to jump directly to ticket number is to use the URL bar.

A solution for this is in the works though, as it’s been mildly requested but consistent through Lighthouses lifespan.

I am having a lot of fun working with Lighthouse. But in my opinion it is missing one critical feature: the ability to record and track time estimates. So I put together a Greasemonkey script that closes the gap.

Basically it invites users to put a time estimate in the title of a ticket. The script will display total estimates for all open tickets in the milestone view, broken down by user. I am also thinking of adding a feature to display totals of time estimates from tickets displayed in search results.

This is a Greasemonkey script that helps you to keep track of estimates for the amount of time left on open tickets in Lighthouse.

USAGE

Record estimates for your Lighthouse tickets somewhere in the title of the ticket. Accepted units are days, hours and minutes. Here are some examples of ticket titles that will work:

Ticket with an estimate 30 minutes 1 day
2hrs 20min Ticket with an estimate

With the estimate tracking script running, totals for estimates will be displayed on the milestone page. Each project member will have the total estimate of the amount of work they have left for the milestone displayed next to their name. Only estimates from open tickets are counted toward the total; so don’t worry if there are closed tickets around that still have estimates on them.

If you do some work on a ticket, but don’t quite finish it – or if you just get better information about how long a task will take – you will probably want to update the estimate. To do that, just update the title of the ticket to reflect the new estimate.

In reply to “better textile support” Lighthouse doesn’t actually use textile, it’s a cut down custom setup which doesn’t offer as much. We’re actually adding in markdown in the future, and keeping the current textile system to accompany it.

We are using pages for general stuff, like styleguides and information about servers.

To tell you the truth the pages functionality is a bit lacking right now. In my opinion it would work much better if some of the following functionality would be added:

Versioning
Comments
watchlist
Updates on the dashboard
Better textile support

Now I’m thinking about it, there’s a lot of overlap between messages and pages. If you make it possible to add links to messages in the sidebar (like the links to the pages) you could probably get rid of pages altogether. I think most of the stuff I mentioned would make sense for messages and they already have comments.

Jason, that’s actually a rather interesting question. I’ve seen people use pages for different functions. Quite often as a style guide or instruction place for how things work in their ticket system or use. I’ve seen lots of guideline information or outlines of the quoted projects in project pages, or changelog copies and stuff.

I personally haven’t ever used the pages option in Lighthouse, but have seen them on many projects.

You folks /really/ need to make it easier to work through tickets more quickly. The idea that updating a ticket leaves you on that ticket is baffling… you’ve just clicked a button that says “make these changes”... which sort of implies you did what you needed to do. Really a frustrating user experience.

If you really feel that’s the correct behavior, then at least add a “Update and close” button for the rest of us, or maybe an “Update and go to next ticket”

I haven’t been able to find more information on Pages other than “Add more information – Pages make it easy to brainstorm new ideas or add new content” on the tour page. I can’t for the life of me figure out why these would be useful, but I feel like I’m totally missing the boat on this. I believe there must be a great use for this feature, and I would love for others to let me know how they find them useful. Thanks for your insight!

Chris, how much have you played around with lighthouse? prioritize probably doesn’t seem like a very upfront feature at first glance. You can prioritize inside the milestone, which is handy for the developer when they actually sit down and start working on tickets which have been organized:

but it’s also very common that tags are used to indicate priority, such as @high and @low which has been a very nice combo for my and my teams inside lighthouse. I haven’t had a complaints about workflow or tickets not getting attention since this was adopted into Lighthouse for us.

So how does that work exactly? It would be way more useful to be able to give a 1 -5 priority when you are creating tickets. Unfortunately I may have to cancel my account as I can’t see the usefulness in a tracking system without priority.
